So this past weekend, we went down to the Pow Wow qualifier in Gainesville Florida. Basically, everyone who skated in Florida was there and more. The Am contest started out with some good skating coming from everybody. As the rounds narrowed down to the finals people started lacing some risky tricks. Gumby somehow rolled a top of a giant fan to disaster soul on a wood drop rail, also laced a soyal and ao topsoul on the quarter to rafter. Blake Kelly soul 540'd that same rafter after destroying his stomach moments before. Eric Micheals landed a crazy stall backflip in on the rafters during the best trick comp. Kc Rowe frontside 180 on the long tombstone. Joey Chase won the best trick contest with a disaster soul. Overall it was an awesome contest. The best thing of all I would say was the hype in that building that day. It did not matter who you were, or what you were doing, if you were going for a trick, the crowd was cheering. So tight.
